MEAT MEAL/MEAT POWDER

The “meat meal” below is actually from eggs!!!

Processed Material (Meat Meal)

The MAOF dehydration process produces a dry, stabilized organic material (meat meal) through controlled thermal treatment and continuous mixing.

During processing, poultry carcasses and eggs are reduced in volume while moisture is removed and the material is transformed into a consistent, manageable form. The process significantly reduces pathogen load and stabilizes the organic matter, supporting improved on-farm biosecurity.

Material Characteristics

The resulting material is:

  • Dry and reduced in volume
  • Stabilized through thermal processing
  • Lower in moisture and odor compared to raw mortality
  • Easy to handle, store, and manage on-site

Typical compositional analysis indicates:

  • Moisture content: ~20%
  • Nitrogen (N): ~10%
  • Phosphorus (P): ~0.5%
  • Potassium (K): ~0.6%

These values are indicative and may vary depending on input material and operating conditions.

On-Farm Management

The material is intended to be managed on-farm within existing waste handling practices, including composting, in accordance with local regulations.

By converting mortality into a stabilized material, farms can:

  • Avoid the need for off-site transport
  • Reduce handling risks associated with raw carcasses
  • Integrate the material into existing farm workflows

Potential Further Uses

In certain cases, the material may be incorporated into fertilizer streams or further processed, subject to applicable regulatory approvals.

Any such use should be evaluated locally to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Considerations

The MAOF system is designed for on-farm mortality management, not for the production of a regulated end product.

The process does not produce sterile material. Instead, it provides a controlled method to stabilize organic matter and significantly reduce pathogen load, enabling safe and practical handling within the farm environment.
